Day One: US Departure

Day Two: Venice

  • Venice - arrival and afternoon at leisure

Day Three: Venice

  • Venice - built on islands separated by canals and connected by bridges, la Serenissima remains unique and enchanting. See St. Mark's Basilica and Square, the Doge's Palace and Bridge of Sighs.

Day Four: Venice - Padua - Florence

  • Padua - home to St. Anthony for the last 18 months of his life, the Basilica now houses his tomb and relics. Padua's Collegium Maius is one of the oldest universities in the world.

Day Five: Florence

  • Florence - cradle of the Renaissance, where Giotto, Fra Angelico, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci brought biblical heroes and great moments of faith to life in their art. See the Doors of Paradise on the Baptistry, Michelangelo's David in the Accademia, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Church of Santa Croce.

Day Six: Florence (Tuscany Excursion)

  • Pisa - with its iconic Leaning Tower, just one of a quartet of ecclesiastical buildings known as the Field of Miracles.
  • San Gimignano - most remarkable of the Tuscan hill towns, in 'Medieval Manhattan' time seems to have stood still for 500 years.

Day Seven: Florence - Siena - Assisi

  • Siena - walk in the footsteps of St. Catherina of Siena, through the narrow Gothic streets of this exquisite city. See St. Catherine's relics in San Domenico, St. Catherine's Birthplace and Basilica, the unique main square of the Campo, where the Palio takes place, and the massive Cathedral of Siena.

Day Eight: Assisi - Rome

  • Assisi - the hilltop, walled town, which has become a monument to the universal spirituality inspired by St. Francis. See St. Francis Basilica, the Porziuncola in Santa Maria degli Angeli, the Basilica of St. Clare and the Piazza del Commune.

Days Nine and Ten: Rome

  • Rome - the Eternal City still casts its magical spell 2000 years after it was the capital of the known world. The days in Rome are the undoubted climax to our pilgrimage, where we share the apostolic blessing of the Holy Father with thousands of fellow Catholics at the Papal Audience; where we bear witness to 2000 years of Christianity as pilgrims to the Four Major Basilicas, the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel; where we share in the persecution and martyrdom of early Christians, as we experience the Rome of the Caesars through iconic landmarks like the Colosseum, Circus Maximus and Roman Forum.
